Privacy notice

Version: borrador-2026-09-15b

Draft. This notice is a draft awaiting legal review. It describes what the site does today, but its wording may change. If it does, the new version will carry a different date and the form will ask you to accept it again.

Who is responsible

Chale's Lab is the trade name of a natural person registered with Costa Rica's Ministry of Finance. That person is responsible for the personal data collected on this site, under Costa Rica's Law No. 8968 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of their Personal Data.

For any question about this notice or your data: brarojasc.dev@gmail.com.

What is collected

What the contact form asks for: your name, email address, the message you write, and the language you were reading the site in.

When you send it, the site also records the IP address it was sent from, the date, and the version of this notice you accepted. The IP address is used to limit abusive submissions.

Before sending, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is filling in the form. To do that, Cloudflare processes technical data from your browser.

What it is used for

To answer your enquiry and follow up on that conversation. It is not sold, not shared with third parties for advertising, and not used to send newsletters.

Legal basis

Your consent, given by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to the address above; withdrawing it does not affect what was processed before.

Where it is stored and who processes it

Enquiries are stored in Chale's Lab's internal panel. These providers are involved in running the site and that panel: Vercel (site hosting), Supabase (the panel's database), Cloudflare (Turnstile verification), Resend (email delivery) and Sentry (technical monitoring of the site: it records errors and, on one visit in ten, how long the page takes to load, with browser and page data and no cookies).

These providers run servers outside Costa Rica, mainly in the United States, so your data may be stored or processed there.

How long it is kept

The retention period is still to be set in the legal review of this notice. Until then, your data is deleted whenever you ask.

Your rights

You can ask to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, or object to its processing, by writing to brarojasc.dev@gmail.com. If you believe your rights were not respected, you can go to Costa Rica's data protection agency, PRODHAB.

Cookies

This site uses no analytics or advertising cookies. Turnstile's verification may use technical browser storage, needed only for that check.
